  1. How/where do I register for a campus visit?    (top)

    Register online at admissions.eku.edu/visit/ to schedule a campus visit.

  2. May I bring my car?     (top)

    Yes, all students are permitted to have a vehicle on campus. Students may register their vehicles and pick up a parking pass at the Mattox Building.

  3. Do I need to live on campus?     (top)

    You are required to live in a university residence hall if: you are single, enrolled in full-time undergraduate studies, and under the age of 21 OR if you have fewer than 60 credit hours. Exceptions are made if your parent's primary residence is within 50 miles of the Richmond Campus.

  4. How much does it cost to live on campus?    (top)

    Rates vary each academic year by residence hall and room type. The current rates can be found on the Student Accounting webpage under the Tuition and Fees link.  

  5. How do I get scholarships?    (top)

    Financial planning is a large part of your college preparation. Contact the EKU Scholarship Office by phone at 859-622-8032 or visit their website at www.scholarships.eku.edu for more information on the various scholarship opportunities offered.

  6. Is campus safe?     (top)

    The EKU Police Department has 25 sworn police officers dedicated to providing a safe and secure campus environment for students, faculty, and staff. University Police provide 24-hour patrol of the EKU campus buildings, parking lots, residence hall exteriors, and campus grounds.

  7. Will my grades/scores be enough to get admitted to EKU?    (top)

    There are nine different admissions categories with various criteria for admission to EKU. Check out the Admissions Criteria page on our website or email our office if you have any questions.

  8. What are the Admissions deadline dates?     (top)

    Fall: August 1; Spring: December 1; Summer: April 1

  9. What do I do if I miss the deadline?     (top)

    Contact the Admissions Office at admissions@eku.edu, or call 859-622-2106 (locally) or 800-465-9191 (toll free).

  10. As a transfer student, should I send my transcripts now or wait until I complete the semester?    (top)

    You can send them now if you have a GPA of 2.3 or better and have completed 2 or more semesters, but you must send a final college transcript once you have completed the semester. Other than that you must wait until you complete the semester before you send the transcripts.

  11. How do I pay my application fee?     (top)

    By credit card, check, money order or cash.

  12. Can my application fee be waived?    (top)

    Yes, your application fee can be waived if you are a veteran or participate in the free or reduced lunch program.

  13. What are placement tests? Do I need to take them?    (top)

    Placement tests are an opportunity for students to demonstrate college level readiness in English, Mathematics, and Reading, if they did not meet the requirement through ACT/SAT. If you receive below an 18 in Reading or English and below a 19 in Mathematics, you have to take a placement test.

  14. What happens if I don't "pass" a placement test?    (top)

    You will have to take a remedial class that will prepare you for college level courses.

  15. I've been admitted, now what?    (top)

    Congratulations on being admitted to EKU! Next you should go online to www.firstyear.eku.edu/new-student-orientation to register for an Orientation session. At the Orientation you will schedule classes for your first semester as well as learn about campus housing, dining services, financial aid, and so much more!
