Move-In Day at EKU

Our class of 2022 moved in this past weekend and we could not be more excited! Faculty, staff, and students have already begun to notice the positive change and vibrancy that our new students have brought to the #CampusBeautiful!

Move-in day at the #ColonelNation can be hectic, but truly show what Eastern Kentucky University is all about! We understand that students and parents are nervous and confused when they first arrive onto our campus. We also understand that they have many items for to place in their residence hall, which could cause them to make multiple trips out to their car. We don’t want our students and their families to feel uncomfortable, nor do we want them to break a sweat on move-in day!

When you move-in to EKU, you’ll notice a few things:

• Good directions: We give thorough directions about residence halls locations, including signs placed all around campus. Additionally, there are many volunteers on campus that day who can help direct people who are lost.
• Many volunteers: When move-in day is approaching, we ask for students and staff to volunteer. You would be shocked at the amount of people in our community who offer up their time to help! You will be greeted in the parking lot and people will begin to help you carry your things inside your residence hall.
• Timing: Our Housing department puts a lot of thought into move-in day. They coordinate specific move-in times for each residence hall so there are not too many people attempting to move-in at once.

Due to our helpful volunteers and dedicated Housing Office, move-in day operates smoothly on the #CampusBeautiful. We love our Colonel family and want to remind you that if you become a part of our family, we will help you every step of the way!
