Happy Friendsgiving!

Colonel Journal: Guiding your transition to colonel country

“It’s Thanksgiving and we should not want to be together, together!” Rachel Green, FRIENDS

If there is one thing that we all love about Thanksgiving, it’s the food! Wait… I mean friends. Yep, it’s definitely the friends. Food is just an added bonus!

The cast of FRIENDS got one thing right and that was how they spent Thanksgiving – they spent it together. Have you heard of the term Friendsgiving?

Friendsgiving is the time when you get together with your closest friends and cook a delicious meal. You cook together, eat together, share stories, and plenty of laughs!

Friendsgiving is a great time to friends, old and new, to come together and give thanks. Use this time to let your new friends at EKU finally meet your older friends from your hometown.

So, what are the perks of Friendsgiving?

  • Food: Need I say more? Friendsgiving is a time for delicious food, including desserts!
  • Fun: Have a laugh while you’re cooking, share stories over dinner, and maybe even play some after-dinner games! Take some time away from your daily life to relax and have a good time with your closest friends.
  • Memories: Friendsgiving can be a wonderful time to make memories that will last a lifetime. As I previously mentioned, you can bring old and new friends together during this time. Join all of your friends in celebration!
  • Thankfulness: Not only will you have the opportunity to have fun and make memories with your friends, but you will also be able to share your thankfulness for one another!

Eastern Kentucky University hopes that you have a wonderful Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving! We hope that you get a belly full of turkey and memories that will last forever.

Go Colonels!
