Visiting Students
EKU welcomes students who are pursuing degrees at other institutions and who would like to enroll at EKU for the purpose of transferring EKU credits back to their home institution.
To apply as a visiting student:
- Complete the online application.
- Provide verification of good standing from your current/home institution. A formal 'Letter of Good Standing' from the Office of the Registrar at your current institution can be emailed as a PDF to admissions@eku.edu.

*Please note that to enroll in courses you must provide evidence that you meet the stated course prerequisites. Financial aid is not available to visiting students. Students who wish to transfer to EKU must reapply as a degree-seeking transfer student.
Non-Degree Seeking Students
EKU welcomes students who are interested in taking classes but not seeking a degree at this time. We offer several department level certificates that do not require a student to be degree-seeking or a student can simply take courses they have an interest in.
To apply as a non-degree seeking student:
- Complete the online application.
**Please note that to enroll in courses you must provide evidence that you meet the stated course prerequisites. Financial aid is not available to non-degree seeking students. Students who wish to transfer to EKU must reapply as a degree-seeking transfer student. There are some Tuition Waiver programs available from outside sources that may apply. Please read more here: Tuition Waivers.
Application deadlines:
- August 1st for Fall term
- November 23rd for Winter term
- December 1st for Spring term
- May 1st for Summer I
- June 15th for Summer II
Next Steps
After you submit your application, you can log back into your Application Portal to check your status. Use the email and password you used when you applied. Once you have been admitted, please take these next steps:
Setup your EKU Direct account and EKU student email:
EKU Direct is the administrative portal used by students to register for classes and pay tuition. To setup your accounts, login to your Application Portal. Choose your application on the screen and navigate to the EKU Direct tab. Follow the directions at the bottom to setup your accounts.

Contact the University Advising Office:
University Advising will assist you with the course registration process including providing a RAC (registration) number to enroll. You will complete the enrollment process within your EKU Direct account. Be sure to email from your EKU student email and include your EKU student number on all communication. If you are taking a course that requires a pre-requisite test score or course, you may need to request a course override through the department offering that class. Check the top of the department webpage for details or contact the Department Chair for assistance.
